A Critics Choice Association (CCA) anunciou os indicados as categorias de filme para o Critics Choice Awards 2021. Sendo assim, os vencedores serão revelados no domingo, 7 de março de 2021, às 21h no horário de Brasília. Além disso, devido à pandemia de COVID-19, a 26ª premiação do Critics Choice Awards será um evento híbrido, entre presencial e virtual. Ademais, com participação do apresentador Taye Diggs e alguns dos apresentadores da noite filmando de um palco em Los Angeles, e os indicados aparecendo remotamente de vários locais ao redor o mundo.

Assim, os indicados deste ano para filmes são liderados por ‘Mank’ da Netflix, que recebeu 12 indicações, incluindo Melhor Filme; Melhor Ator por Gary Oldman; Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante por Amanda Seyfried e Melhor Diretor por David Fincher. Além disso, ‘Minari’ (A24) veio logo atrás com 10 indicações, incluindo Melhor Filme; Melhor Ator por Steven Yeun e Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante por Yuh-Jung Youn; Melhor Filme Estrangeiro e Melhor Trilha Sonora para Emile Mosseri.

Com sua indicação de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante por ‘O Pai’ da Sony Pictures, Olivia Colman se torna a única artista reconhecida por seu trabalho no cinema e na televisão nesta temporada, tendo sido previamente anunciada como indicada por seu papel principal em ‘The Crown'(Netflix). Vale ressaltar que Chadwick Boseman também recebeu várias indicações por suas atuações notáveis ​​em ‘Destacamento Blood’ (Netflix) e ‘A Voz Suprema do Blues, (Netflix).

Netflix na liderança

Na contagem entre estúdios e streamings, a Netflix lidera as indicações para filmes e tv, com um total de 72 indicações. HBO/HBO Max obteve 24 indicações para séries, e a Amazon Studios expande seu total para 18 indicações, somando as adições de filmes.

Como havíamos divulgado anteriormente, duas séries da Netflix lideram o grupo de TV, com ‘Ozark’ e ‘The Crown’ cada uma recebendo seis indicações, incluindo Melhor Série Dramática.

Várias outras séries marcaram presença como ‘Lovecraft Country’, ‘Mrs. America’, ‘Schitt’s Creek’ e ‘What We Do In The Shadows’, cada uma recebendo cinco indicações, e ‘Better Call Saul’ e ‘The Plot Against America’ concorrem a quatro prêmios.

Contudo premiação acontece dia 7 de março, com transmissão ao vivo da TNT na TV a cabo. Os comentários serão de Aline Diniz e Michel Arouca.
